Bio: I began teaching at Laurin Middle School in 1997. I have worked with so many talented student artists who have created 1000’s of amazing art pieces; placed and won ribbons in art contests throughout Oregon and Washington. I’ve spent 20 years leading Laurin’s Drill Team...marching behind The Band with pom- poms in decades of Hazel Dell and Junior Rose Parades. As time passed on, I have taught siblings, cousins, and now sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews of former students. (What a blessing in my life.) I look forward to the beautiful works of art we will create together this year. Let’s make 2021-2022 THE BEST!

PE/Health Teacher

Bio: This is my 21st year teaching in the District and 19 at Laurin. Prior to BGSD I spent time teaching and coaching in the Ocean Beach and Grandview School District. I am the mother of eight children ages 3 all the way up to 26. In my spare time I enjoy farming, the beach and watching my children participate in their many activities. As a teacher I enjoy watching students learn new skills, becoming successful and starting to reach their potential in activities. This year will involve lots of learning for all of us. so keeping it positive as we work together to find success will be one of my goals for all of us. Waiting for this new adventure to begin and getting to meet all of my students.

Bio:I am blessed to be able to work with everyone who makes Laurin great - students, families and staff; this year will be my 15th year doing just that! I enjoy hanging out with family and friends in addition to papercrafting, reading and fitness walking. And our family has THE cutest miniature golden doodle dog named Harley. Ever since I was a kid, school has always been my "Happy Place," so I am fortunate to have the job I do. Go Lions!!!!!

Media Technician/Library Assistant

Bio: After 17 years in the hospitality industry, it was time for a new adventure. And what better place to settle than in the Laurin Middle School Library. This will be my 13th year with BGPS and 11th year at Laurin. I enjoy gardening, quilting, and walking. I am an avid reader and love helping students find a great book. Need a suggestion? Just ask (but be prepared for a long list!)

STEM Teacher

Bio: This is my third year teaching at Laurin, but my first year teaching STEM! During my eight years in the district I have taught fifth graders, sixth graders, seventh graders, and even other teachers within the district. I am extremely excited to be the STEM teacher here at Laurin! When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my wife and three year old daughter, getting lost in a book, hiking one of the wonderful trails here in the PNW, grooving to some records, making a new mechanical keyboard, or doing some gaming on my PC.

Bio: I have a passion for music and teaching, and I am incredibly excited to share those two passions with the students at Laurin Middle School. Though this is my 1st year at Laurin Middle School, I am going into my 4th year of teaching, and two of those years were spent in Battle Ground. I graduated from the University of Idaho class of 2017, with a bachelors in Music Education, Music Performance, and a minor degree in Jazz Studies. I taught band at Pleasant Valley Middle School from 2017 to 2019. Due to the changes in the district and removal of Maple Grove Middle School, I had to leave the district following the spring of 2019. I taught band, choir, and general music at Linus Pauling Middle School in Corvallis, OR, during the academic year of 2019-2020. I am so grateful to return to BGPS, and I can’t wait to connect and create with students at Laurin Middle School. Aside from teaching, I consider myself to be an avid trumpet player and performer. I also love food, coffee, cooking, and going on culinary adventures. Some people eat to live, but I live to eat!
